Well I Never!

Professor David Spiegelhalter of Cambridge University wants to know about your coincidences!

Soulmates

I truly believe I’ve met my twin flame/ soulmate and the coincidence we discovered together convinced me of it. He’s ten years older than me and we met 4 years after we figured out we had first met. We both worked for a grocery store. I was 19 and it was my first job. I happened to ask the manager for help and unknowing to me he answered my call since he was training to be a manager in the store I worked at. I didn’t even remember I had met him until we tried to figure out if our lives had ever overlapped after we both ended up in the same store 4 years after this chance encounter. We also discovered that we lived in the same town at the same time, his other home was minutes away from my sisters house that I visited numerous times. Another strange coincidence was that my sister years later bought his old house. I had never told her where he had lived and she ended up putting in an offer. I realized it was his house when she sent me the listing. His wife also has the exact same car as me.

Taiyaki

It was valentines day. I went over to a friend's and gave her some chocolate. She made me some taiyaki. I didn't finish it because I was full. I drove two hours to meet up with another group of unconnected friends. One of them announced they were craving taiyaki. I got the extras out of my car and offered it to him.

Receiving 2 letters with the same number

A few years ago on holiday I was inconvenienced by forgetting the PIN for my credit card. When I got home I applied for a new number which was sent to me by post. On the same day that I received this I received an electricity bill. The amount due on the bill was the same as the credit card number. I never had trouble with my credit card PIN again - I took the electricity bill on holiday with me to remind me.

Palindromes

How is it possible that EVERY random time I look at a clock it is a Palindrome number? I realize there are 114 possible palindromes in a 24 hour period. But if EVERY time I look it IS a palindrome, how is that possible?

Deaths and birthday

My daughter was born January 28, she passed away at 32 yr.old Aug 6 2015. My Mother passed away January 28th 2012my brother David passed away January 28th 2021 is there something with this date ? Or Month

Repetitive names

So there's 3 Victors in my life. One is my personal trainer and the other 2 I'm good friends with. The funny thing is all 3 are very attractive. They're all a pain in my ass too. Lol I recently met my cousin Naomi through 23 and me. My best friend's mom's name is Naomi along with my next door neighbor. Weird right?

What are the odds.

I received a text message with my name in it inviting me to Kassies bday party. I said who is Kassie and who is this they respond w wrong number. What are the odds they would get my name right in the text message?

Learning it to Living it

I am not one to give too much credit to the weird coincidences in my life but a couple of events have always pestered me well into my young adult years. The first event occurred in 6th grade (2007). Our science teacher had just finished our section on certain illnesses and diseases. I was assigned to do my project on Bronchitis, and this was the first time I had ever heard of it. The following week, I got sick— more so than the typical cold I got every couple of months. From my project, I thought it was Bronchitis— though I knew it was probably just me latching onto what I had just learned. However, when I got diagnosed, they confirmed my suspicions. Though it was a strange correlation, I didn’t give it too much energy, because Bronchitis is common among those with asthma— the timing was just weird. But then, learning it to living it happened again. The next year, 7th grade, my history teacher taught us about the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. We were assigned books to read about that time period, and the one I received talked a lot about Dust Storms.

Richard Brautigan, The One who flew over the Cuckoos Nest and Ratched

So the title is pretty clear. On the March 2021, i decided to collect all the Brautigan books and read them by end of 2021. The weekend i ordered 5 of his books, I started browsing shows on Netflix and started watching Ratched, without knowing what it's. But then realized, it was the back story of Nurse Ratched from the book, The one who flew over the Cuckoo's Nest. And the movie was shot in Oregon state mental institute and It was in the same hospital where Richard Brautigan was Instuitionalized briefly. Cool, eh ?

My birthday

I was beginning to date someone and was looking for a sign if I should continue it further. Funnily enough, she shows me a polaroid picture with my birthday scribbled on the lower portion of the polaroid. The polaroid was from 2 years ago but it was taken exactly on my birthdate. I remember connecting it with so many meanings just because it felt like a rare ocassion; it happened when I least expected it but also just as I was looking for a sign. Anyway, we aren't dating anymore. That experience taught me never to overvalue coincidences.
