A surprise meeting

I volunteered to work for a 6 hour shift at a as a vaccinator at a centre which was operating for 12 hours a day for 6 days a week. I picked the 2-8pm on a Saturday afternoon. There were 8 vaccination booths and mine was positioned near the exit of the room. As I was working I was greeted by my neighbour who had just had his vaccination.

Finding my friend's wallet in a random neighborhood

I was invited by some friends to go to some sort of dance competition event our friend hosted at a high school in an area somewhere in Los Angeles that I'm not familiar and I would have to look it up to find it again. We parked in a residential area, and it was not well-lit. My friends found a wallet on the ground and I saw that they were trying to contact the person on Facebook to get the wallet back to him. I looked at the driver's license and saw that it was a friend of mine (at the time more of an acquaintance introduced to me by a good friend), so I contacted him to tell him we found his wallet. My friend lives in San Diego and came up to check out the competition. I don't think it's a big deal when I run into people in public coincidently, but my friends finding a wallet in the dark and it happened to be a person I know is kind of random.

neighboor lying on the floor in the corridor, next day take a cab and cabdrivers son has identical name with neighbor

I live in a 8 story multi-tenant apartment house in the city. One day I heard something outside my door, I opened the door and there was my neighbor from the apartment across my own, lying on the floor with a man and a women that I don't know helping him. I asked if I can help [this neighbor is middle aged and I think he has some mental issues but I don't know exactly what he has or what happened]. The women replied [rudely] for me to close the door because it 'disturbing' or something [I am not in good terms with this neighbor because he is not an honest person and has done a few bad things in the past but when I saw that he was in a bad situation- I wanted to help. Plus- that women doesn't even live there (perhaps his relative?) that was rude of her.]. Anyway- the next day I took my car to the yearly checkup in the garage. It took a few hours so I walked to my mother's house and on the way back I took a cab. I sat at the back seat and there was a placard with the name of the driver [this car belong to...]. I realized the last name was the same as my neighbor [this is not a very common name in my country]. The driver was just telling me about the time when he traveled abroad and left his previous car with his son, and the son had an accident [when the streets were slippery after the first rain] and totaled his car. I asked him if his son's first name was Michael [my neighbor's] first name- and he said yes, but they live next to each other in another city. I told him where I live and about the neighbor with the same name as his son. He told me he actually visited the [small] street where I live to come to the apartment of some family members a few months ago to console them after a cop shot and killed his wife [a story that was in the news a few months ago]. I don't know what to make of this. man[neighbor] in distress- I want to help but receive rudness-driver's son with same name as man and was at my street visiting family that went thru a tragedy. Some people would say it is all randomness- but I don't view reality that way [although I am a student (academically) of science etc.]. I think the fabric of reality is much more complex [but inherently simple at the same time] and connected in seemingly infinite ways...

Dream of a telephone call and wake up-call after a few seconds

I was a classical musician. There was a conductor, which I was very fond off and new from a young age. I haven't heard from him in years and also didn't think about him recently [in the time of the coincidence]. I was sleeping in the morning and before I woke up I dreamed the conductor calls me [telephone]. I woke up and AFTER A FEW SECONDS there was a phone call- it was him.

Car Repair Coincidence

In July 1969 on a journey from Norwich to Nottingham, my Fiat 500 car broke down in Downham Market. I needed a knife to repair the distributor feed. On knocking on the first door, the lady fetched her son who worked as a mechanic in the Fiat garage in March Cambs. Incidentally all six members of our family were born on a Saturday, admittedly I am a twin which reduces the odds,

Never let me go

Went down a rabbit hole on wikipedia and ended up reading about a book from the early 2000s' I'd never heard of. Listening to the radio later that day they are interviewing the author of the same book and talking about the themes in his book and how they apply to today.

Papaya Salad

This morning I threw on a youtube video while eating my breakfast. The video was an introduction to Hmong food. They mentioned a dish I had never heard of before: "Papaya Salad" . Less than two hours later I picked up a comic book I had never read before and what do the main characters eat in the first chapter? "Papaya Salad." Later that day I decide to treat myself to chinese takeout. What's on their menu? "PAPAYA SALAD." This dish popped up a lot in my day for something that I've never heard of before.

Nans funeral - watch stopped working

So today was my lovely Nans Funeral. My family were all waiting outside my Nans for the funeral procession to arrive. That morning I put my watch on, and notice it was half an hour late, on checking again the second hand wasn’t working. It had stopped at 10.30am. I thought “oh well I’ll leave it on”. While waiting for Nan to arrive my Sister who was standing next to me checked her watch to see how much longer we had to wait. My Sister started tapping her watch, and then said “my watch has stopped working”. I laughed and said “so did mine at 10.30am this morning”. My sister looked at her watch and then told me, “oh my god mine stopped at 10.30am as well”. I’ve no ideal what this means if anything at all. But what are the odds. I would love this to have been a message from Nan, but feel stupid even thinking that.

Meeting someone

I was taking the lift and this woman was waiting beside me. At the same time both of the lifts stopped at the level we were waiting at.I went into the lift at the left and the woman chose the left lift. Both of us alighted at the same level, going our seperate ways after reaching.I went to a bookstore and shortly after, the woman came to the bookstore too.I stayed put at the place I was while she went further back in the store.I decided to go to another section of the bookstore and saw her again, she was right beside the section where I was. However right after I went, she had got her items and left. After I decided to leave the store after a long time , I walked out and creepiest part is that I saw her again as she was walking towards my direction. This is just too scary because the probability of both of us leaving at different times and crossing paths at the same time is just too low but it happened.

Cursed First Love was Foreshadowed for a Decade

Finally, after being fed up with dating I met someone online. INSTANTLY, I felt extremely comfortable in his presence. That was rare for me — extremely rare. Chemistry was insane and we fell for each other very quickly. Two weeks in we discovered our link. When I was a child, my family went through this extremely messy affair/divorce with my aunt and uncle. She cheated on him and I had been used toward it, babysitting my cousins while she snuck off. My parents/grandparents strongly believe it all had been influenced by my aunt’s best friend in the neighborhood, who was also divorced and thriving in the single/divorced life. This woman had become a household/cursed name. I only knew the first name, not the last name. I heard awful things about her. Nothing ever ever good. I had met her once when I was babysitting and remembered her Polish accent. As for my aunt, it was a messy divorce. My aunt is now estranged from the family. I haven’t seen her, my uncle, or my cousins in over a decade. Two weeks in, this young man I was dating tells me that he had lived in this specific neighborhood. I told him the last name of my family members and he INSTANTLY knew who I was. “You’re her niece?” He had been able to see my cousins grow up because when I hadn’t been allowed to babysit anymore because of the family cutting off my aunt, the young man took over as the babysitter. That wasn’t all — when I was 17 I had participated in music at his old high school as a guest artist and ended up befriending people that he had dated, not knowing he had dated them til after we had broken up. During my time at the high school awful rumors were going around about him but I never knew the name, only knew the face from Facebook of the girls he dated and all the stories about him and his family. He wasn’t involved in the music project at the high school, but he must had passed me during those times when he picked up his then girlfriend (whom I was friends with and went to lunch with, she must have talked about him at lunch). He and I never spoke. Not until 6 years later. I walked on eggshells around my family trying to not tell them who he really was. Because my family HATES his family and I believe his family feels the same way. He and I didn’t feel that way about each other though. It truly was a Romeo and Juliet romance. He was the worst person I could possibly date. What makes it worse is that he was my first love at age 22. We knew of each other’s existence at ages 12/13 and collided a decade later at ages 22/23. Eventually, I caved and my mother confessed she had already figured it out because of knowing where he lived and the fact that he was Polish. Thankfully, she wasn’t upset but secretly did not like that we were dating. When my grandma found out she swore...she never swears. Before the breakup, things seemed fine. I ended up meeting his mothers several times. It’s no surprise though that he was the one who ended things. My whole adolescent life had revolved around his presence so it only made sense that our connection was instant. His family name will always be a part of the story my family tells with all the estranged drama that occurred, and sadly for me, that curse of his family name shall continue because he was my first love. Now he’s gone — just like his family had done to mine time and time again. I can’t seem to let go either, even though he proved to me time and time again that he is a terrible person. I’m trauma bonded in a way. You’d think that out of a decade of awful family things, this was the one thing that could make it all worth it. I feel like it’s not over. If we circled each other for a full decade who’s to say it’s not the end? Time will only tell. What a small small world.
