Three brothers born on the same date

understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
My father was born on January 25, 1933. His twin brothers were born two years earlier, in 1931, also on Jan. 25. For several years, until a fourth brother was born in April 1940, my grandparents celebrated all their three children's birthdays (they had no daughters) on the same date. It so happens that my brother (i.e. my father's son!) was also born on January 25th.
