understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
We have a house in the South of France. We meet up regularly with some of the ex-pats who live in the village. After a year of knowing this particular person on a casual basis, we got talking and discovered that we had both been pupils at the same school and had ben taught by the same teachers. However, when she was there they were all at the beginning of their careers and when I was taught by them they were all due to retire.
