understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
My maiden name was Carol Mary Rosborough and my sister's maiden name was Patricia Anne Rosborough. I married Barry Ellis and his twin sisters are called Carole Mary and Patricia Anne!
In addition my husband's father and brother are both called Geoff. His sister Pat married a Jeff. Pat's daughter Helen married a Geoff. Imagine the confusion when we all get together!
