understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
I have two friends named Fahad. One is my school friend and the other is the university one. It has been about 14 years since I have met my school friend, and also for my university friend we don't meet that often, not to forget I passed out 5 years ago, so we meet like once a year.
Today I was managing my phone book contacts when I found my school friend Fahad's name, whose number I had gotten from our common friend but I hadn't contacted him, so I decided to message him and he started responding as to who I was. Messaging a little further he guessed my name and just on his final messaged when he had guessed who I was, my cell rang "Fahad calling..." I picked the phone and started talking, however I was bit surprised with the way he was talking, I looked at the number and found that he was my university friend, not the school friend I was just messaging with.
I got the school friend's call seconds later, which I was actually expecting, but of course since I was in call with the university Fahad so missed his call.
This university friend seldom calls and he said that I was here for a car wash and thought he should pass his time by calling me, pretty strange aint it?
