understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
I boarded an Easyjet flight in Geneva a couple of years ago. As I walked along the aisle I saw an old friend I used to work with who I hadn't seen or been in touch with for at least 6 years. She was amazed because she had only seconds before she had just been recounting a story about me to her colleague sitting next to her about how I had changed careers.
