understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
I live in Huntingdon. My sister lives and works in Cardiff.
One night last year I went to the ENO at the Coliseum with a friend.
Coming out of a cubicle in the ladies loo at the interval , who should I see at the head of the queue for the next cubicle but my sister and her daughter.
I had no idea that she was in London that weekend.
I should add that my seat was in the dress circle and my sister's was up in the balcony. So there was a choice of possible loos!
