understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
As an 11 year old I did not own a transistor radio. An 11 year old boy in my class at a primary school in Norfolk had a crush on me so I was able to borrow his transistor radio at the weekend. This ended after a few months.
50 years later living in a small village in Northamptonshire I meet the nephew of the aformentioned boy who also lives in the village. I could have been his aunty.
