My coincidence is rather trivial and concerns the number 666 and different yet specific areas of London and the country. I used to reply or put adverts in the Lonely Hearts column of Time Out magazine in the late 80s. I don't think the volume of people doing it in those days was equal to those doing online dating today, I don't know!! So I was surprised when the foreign gentleman who lived in the flat above my sister's in London wrote back to me and because I am that sort of person to look for 'signs' I checked to see if his box number was at all relevant it was B666. A short while after this, I think I must have done a lot of replying to adverts as the other people at the bedsit place were getting fed up of the phone ringing and called down to even no one at times "Void!!" is what I thought they said but I may have been mistaken as it rang and I could not be bothered to trundle all the way upstairs to the coinbox phone. Then once out of the blue I decided I would answer the phone thinking it wouldn't be a member of my family I was completely surprised to hear it was my sister's other half asking me to a party at the flat of his upstairs neighbour - the one who i had replied to in the Lonely Heart's column and was writing to although his English wasn't all that. My brother in law saying he didn't want to go on his own, I immediately thought oh they've seen my hand writing on the post coming through their door...but they never let on, so I am still in the dark as to why I was invited to this party, it meant travelling from Dulwich to West Hampstead and it was already very late in the night and i would have to catch a bus to Brixton first. I did go to the party nothing much happened except I saw my potential date who had very broken English and lots of gorgeous girls round him. I found the environment and the flat's decoration all quite exotic and foreign. Several years later i was listening to a man in Wales I was massaging telling me he had a home in Devon and Wales and traveled into London to paint and massage in the street where my sister used to live and the guy I wrote to from the Lonely Heart's column lived, thinking this was odd as my sister also lived in Devon, I decided to take a look at his phone number thinking it must have 666 in it. His phone number made me jump a bit in surprise as it did indeed have three sixes in it, even better it was[ something] three sevens, [something] three sixes and a relevant number as the last two which now escape me it may have been 87, he told me he had had the number from before most people had mobile phones, which I also found a bit wacky as that would have tied in with when I had been writing to the mn who lived in the same place as my sister, however since then he said he lost his phone, and didn't transfer his number!! I did ask which year he lost it and went on about it a bit, saying he should have kept it, as I was disappointed he lost his phone number although the new one still had three sixes in a row in it, it wasn't as good as the original one with the three sevens as well. I also think how where i read the number from his phone there is a Welsh picture of a woman with a shawl that has the head of the devil subtly depicted in the folds it's called Salem and is in a gallery in Liverpool. Not connected to this string of coincidences but because I am aware that the number 666 has recurred in my life in a 'relevant' way: Something got me thinking of the synchronicity event in my life concerning the number 666 when I was reading the Radio listenings and I was rather surprised to see that in about an hour the book of Revelation was being set to music so i began to listen to it, then fell asleep. Realise that 666 has an overwhelming number of references to it including within this collection of coincidences I read last year. For instance whilst staying in America, as I was leaving a cafe a stranger turned in a slightly agitated state to tell me she was having difficulty remembering the name of a film could I help, the film was Cramer Vs Cramer, which has a reference to 666 in it, as the chandelier was bought from an auction lot number 666. so I suppose the coincidence wasn't that great, although it did bring me back to the area recently where i first replied to the ad with the Box number 666, to have a swim in an extremely cold Lido and go and see some artwork in the local gallery of an artist who is a friend of my sister's. I was a little spooked by the blue balloons outside the place I used to live and in France later than month was even more spooked by handing over some euros to a little boy begging at the side of the road with a blue ball. I was prompted to visit the place where I used to live as doing a car boot last Spring a lady i had met before on the bus and chatted to came up to my stall and we recognised each other. she was quite recognisable as she walked with a stick. I had been excited that she knew the route to the place i used to live in London, now living in the home counties, and had answered the lonely heart adverts as her daughter lived there and it meant I could return to my old haunts so easily. After meeting at the carboot she bought a little ornament, a bed, I met this chatty lady again one Saturday morning in the local supermarket. She came up to me as I was looking at the different coffees and said that Nero coffee was on special offer on the shelf at the end of the aisle I had just gone down to the shop for coffee nothing else and thought that the Nero coffee was a sign I should go visit the art gallery, lido and old street where i used to live..as the connection was the lady's daughter lived in the same area. And the Emperor Nero is associated with the number 666. I have not bought the coffee since as it's gone up in price. I have met other people connected with this area, and I am surprised to find how it's a small world.
