understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
For the last two to three years, I have noticed that when I look at the time on a digital clock, it often shows: 11:11, 1:11, 12:12, 14:14 etc. 11:10 is often seen.
I awoke during the night, two nights running and looked at my clock. Both nights showed 1:11...
I also notice the time, text messages are sent. These often have the same pattern. (I laughed once as I noticed 13:11. Then realised that would also be 1:11 too!)
I typed in 11:11 once and found a link to a site: http://1111spiritguardians.com/
I am a creative person and very observant. Maybe I am drawn to the time on clocks because of the pattern? I do not know.
