understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
Tonight I found 13 dollars in cash on the ground as I was entering a restaurant. When I went to pay for my meal my bank card was missing. I frantically searched for it in my purse and pockets. As it turns out it was on the ground in the same location the cash was. 13 is an unlucky number. I was anxious to find the owner of the money but could not. Not sure what to do with it now.
