Meeting again

understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
About 10 years ago I worked with the Head of Assessment and member of the Board of the UK Statistics Authority.
10 years after I last saw him we meet in the departure lounge of Auckland Airport, catching the same flight to the UK.
There are about 7 billion people in the world, 200 countries, 365 days in most years... I travel from Auckland Airport about once every 18 months.
So what were the chances of that? (We didn't spend the flight working it out...)
