understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
I was on holiday four years ago in Blaengwinfi,a VERY small village in Wales. Borrowed a book by my fave author in the tiny (!) library. Was half way through it and had to take it back! When I got home, my next door neighbour,Sean, had bought me the exact same book !!!!!!!!!!! He knew I loved that particular Author. I was THRILLED ! - how about THAT! Mac.7.
