understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
I just added privacy glass to a new iPhone and then left home quickly without putting the case back on the phone and a low battery. I met a friend and about an hour later en route to lunch my friend pulled her phone out and commented that she missed her privacy screen (1. I have never heard anyone randomly state they miss something that obstructs UI. 2.I just installed one hours not hours earlier 3.Comment was unsolicited). She then showed me her new case and highlighted the fact that it charges the device. I then pulled my phone out for the first time since leaving home and realized it was dead, so I asked if I could borrow her phone case to charge my device. Stranger things have happened, so I let it go.
Now that I write this I am reminded, my friends phone case was almost impossible to slide onto my iPhone. What's odd is that her iPhone came out of the case with relative ease (1/4 less force).
