understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
Whilst walking down the road past the entrance to a school I felt a sharp pain in my foot. Stopping and inspecting my foot, I found that I had stepped on a drawing pin. This had pierced my trainers, as I looked on the ground attempting to remove the pin I noticed a pound coin,
I can't recall ever before or since having a pin pierce my trainers and I can recall very few times that I've found money on the ground.
