Birthday coincidence

understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
In the late 1950's,my sister and I both had boyfriends. Talking together later we discovered that both lads had the same birth date July 18th and even greater coincidence that they were born the same year 1936. these lads had never met and originated from different parts of the country so had no connection whatsoever. We both later married them and stuck together for over 50 years.
