Early in my current relationship, I was at an embassy with my girlfriend, arranging for my visa to visit there, and during the process of filling out the paperwork, she remarked, in shock, that my passport number was her birthday. A Canadian passport, the "number" was in fact two letters, followed by six digits. The first letter was the first letter of her name. (The second letter was an X, which seemed meaningless to us.) However, the numbers that followed were her birthday, in the month/day/year configuration that Americans use. This was something of a shock to us both. Also, the timing of my visit to see her was interesting: I was meant to travel to see her for a week before her birthday, from the 7th to the 15th of August. However, it became impossible to book a ticket for that time, so I ended up flying later in the month, and arriving just before the 7th... of the seventh month of the *lunar* calendar was, which also coincidentally happened to be a date with romantic associations in my girlfriend's culture's mythology: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chilseok#The_Story_of_Chilseok There were similar sorts of coincidences around that time, and mostly my girlfriend pointed them out to me; I'd imagine that the uncertainty of choosing a mate would probably predispose people to a higher degree of sensitivity to coincidences like the date thing... though even I think the passport number matching her birthday is pretty bizarre.
