understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
I have a work colleague - she and I were born exactly two years and one day apart (me on 9 January 1969, and her on 10 January 1971). We both have one child (daughters in both cases). As it turns out, our daughters were also born exactly two years and one day apart (my daughter on 17 May 2007, and her daughter on 16 May 2005).
