understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
Shortly following the Paul le Mat/Fool coincidence, I happened to be watching The Invaders starring Roy Thinnes. I had made a special effort to catch this on tv as my partner was off work and had not known of the series or of Roy and I had urged her to take note of the classic series and of who he was.
During the ad break, we happened to be talking about 'The National Tree' starring Andrew McCarthy, and I was checking online who played his father in the movie, thinking it was Art Hindle.
Later, that afternoon,I had swapped channels to see 'Satan's school for Girls'. As I switched channels the star, Shannen Doherty was on screen with none other than Art Hindle!
I checked online,and found that the movie I was watching was a remake of a version in which Roy Thinnes had appeared!!
