Birthday/death day coincidence

understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
My daughter was born on the 25th December 1969 but was adopted at birth......my mother never knew about her but my mother died on the 25th December 2000
When I bought my house I was drawn to the fact that it was No. 13 which I considered a lucky number as my son was born on the 13th.....it turned out that the previous owner had the same surname as me and also shared the same birthday with my son (different year obviously!)
