The wrong side of a love song

understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.

I have a few coincidences in this story but they are all surrounding the same event. When I was 14 I met William he was 15. We dated for about 6 months and then I got shipped off from Seattle to San Francisco and that was the last time I saw him. I was on facebook one day and I remembered him and I looked him up. We talked and we agreed to meet and we started dating again. He relocated for me and we lived together for a short 7 months. I was and still am so in love with him I feel like he is my soulmate. He found out that he had a daughter and he moved back to Seattle and left me. I started watching a show called This Is Us. In this show there is a young couple having triplets. The babies were born on August 31 which is my Williams birthday. I was like oh wow that was cool. Then one of the triplets passes and a little boy is left at the fire station so they adopt him so they can take home 3 babies like they had planned. Well the little boy they adopted went looking for his father and his dads name was William I was like ok. Well at the end of the first season it shows how William met Randalls mother and he gets on the bus and sits down and he says I am William and she says I am Laurel. Well I was balling at that point because I am Laurel. I just lost the love of my life for the second time.
Now I went up to Seattle and saw him last weekend and saw him. When he was moving in with me we went up to Seattle to get his stuff and on the way back we were listening to a box of his dads CD's and he put in Journeys greatest hits and the song Open Arms came on and he was like this is our wedding song. I remember it came on right after Great Wolf Lodge because that is where he was planning on having his sons birthday. On this trip I turn on the radio to try to forget about him and shortly after I pass Great Wolf Lodge Open Arms comes on the radio! I lost it I had to pull over! I love him and I know he is on my mind all of the time so I know that I notice the coincidences but they have to have some meaning!
