understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.

Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.

My classmate was employed in Mysore while i was employed in Visakhapatnam (both places are in India) separated by a distance of approximately 1150 kms. After not seeing each other for nearly 7 years, i decided to visit Mysore without intimating him and surprise him. I landed in Mysore and called up his residence to trace out his exact address. His wife answered the phone and told me that he decided to surprise me and left for Visakhapatnam. On the same day when i was calling his residence from his city (Mysore) he was in my residence to surprise me. Coincidence?? You can decide.
