Repeating words.

understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.

Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.

My wife and I are continually surprised when talking , how many times odd words are repeated instantly by the radio or television.

My father many years ago gave myself and a friend a lift to Newcastle, some 300 miles away. After about 120 miles we pulled into this tiny lay by on the A1, my friend next door neighbors pulled in behind us.

My wife and I were on a cruise in the Indian Ocean with some 1800 passengers. We joined a couple for lunch, it transpired they lived in Henley on Thames as we do. A few years later through an agent we went to view a flat owned by them, that we then purchased.

My father had a works number that was the same as his sister telephone number.
