understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.

Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.

In 2003 Classic FM played two pieces that I had voted for in an evening programme. I had voted for these pieces in the station's annual 'Hall of Fame' vote. On the same programme two pieces were played chosen by someone else who I'd never heard of. My parents leter told me that they knew the parents of the other person.
