People from the past

As of the 23rd May 2022 this website is archived and will receive no further updates.

understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.

Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.

In the last two months, after not seeing these people for many years, they have come back into my life in a bigger way than they were previously. 1. Best friend from University. He moved to another state and is not digitally savvy I never saw him again (17 years ago) I ran into him at a bar near work. I am now moving to his state and will be his room-mate 2. Another friend from University (who knows the friend above but is not in contact) who lives in another country now ran into them near my home. Over drinks he revealed a few things I needed to hear about my career and we now have plans to make an art project together
