understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
My father was born on October 1, 1970
My mother was born on November 1, 1970
I was born on August 1, 1990. I was born at 5:57 am, which is the same exact time that my mother was born and weighed 7 pounds 11 and a half ounces, which is exactly how much my father weighed when he was born. Strange.
