understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
Hi, about 25 years ago my brother, Douglas, made friends with a boy who lived about 200 miles from us at a church summer camp. They swapped addresses and kept in touch for a few years. Last year my Dad, who works for a Christian charity sorting out the donated books, came across a Bible in a box of books somebody had dontated. In the front cover was the piece of paper which Douglas had written his address on for his friend 25 years ago.
How's about that then!!
