understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
I usually carry a few books to read while travelling. That day I had three books with me. One was about mathematicians, other one was a novel and another on nature. I preferred the novel the most usually to read while on metro trains. That one day, I picked the book about Mathematicians. The book name is mathematical universe. I scrolled down the contents randomly and decided to read the Russell's paradox chapter. I started reading slowly the introduction part. I came to one particular part, "..Bertrand Arthur William Russell died on second of February, 1970.."
Lo and behold, I felt crazy!
Why?
Because that day was 2nd February! (though the year was 2020).
