understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
I meet my now husband through a dating agency as we both lived in the West Midlands a huge conurbation.
When my mother- in- law was showing our wedding photographs to my husband's cousins, one of them recognised my best friend and maid of honour. They had shared a house together in Hull when they were students at University.
My sister met her husband in London - another huge conurbation.
It later transpired that my father-in-law was at the same school - three years apart- from my sister's father-in-law and there is a whole school photograph showing them together.
