understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.

Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.

As I was researching historical facts to color the setting of my hopefully soon to be published novel, somewhere between writer's block and progress, I spotted it, my birth date, December 16, 1968. It's the exact day that the edict of expulsion against the Jews of Spain, the Alhambra Decree, was officially annulled. I interpreted that as the Divine wink I needed to complete my first novel, to give voice to Sephardim from the Middle Ages and to Israelis of today, with a sense of seriousness and playfulness, mindfulness and celebration.
