understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
Several months ago I got into a horrible accident . A gentleman broke my windows to get me out . I don't remember anything . Three months later I'm having a conversation with a gentleman at work and turns out he's the one that helped me out of my car . A month after meeting him and realizing who he was, I get hit by a company truck, in a complete different city .... I get out of my vehicle shaking and the first person to pull over and help me is him again . I've never met this man before in my life and we were both in shock . I had to stop and look around to make sure I wasn't dreaming .
