understandinguncertainty.org was produced by the Winton programme for the public understanding of risk based in the Statistical Laboratory in the University of Cambridge. The aim was to help improve the way that uncertainty and risk are discussed in society, and show how probability and statistics can be both useful and entertaining.
Many of the animations were produced using Flash and will no longer work.
A good friend of mine while growing up, was the next door neighbor in high school. After getting married, my husband and I purchased property and the older sister of that friend was now my neighbor at my new property. Thought it was kinda funny. What’s really strange is that on my grandmas birthday, she gave birth to her son. On my nephews birthday, she gave birth to a daughter. And on my younger brothers birthday, her third child was born. And then I found out a bit later that the youngest sister of my high school friend had a daughter who was born on my birthday. Which is also my mothers birthday.
